XI INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL

Inspired by the origins of the different cultures that make up the nationality of the Chilean people, emerge as an Independent Art Company, the Folkloric Ballet of Chile, BAFOCHI.
The percentage of folkloric roots, high sense of the show and universal character in each of its works, are some of the characteristics of this group, which since its creation, on May 21, 1987, has made more than 5,500 presentations and reached important national and international titles.
In addition, it has developed its artistic goal with singular success in Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, Dubai, Arab Emirates, Egypt, Lebanon, Spain, United States, Finland, France, Greece, Holland, England, Island Guernsey, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, Palestine, Paraguay, Portugal, Puerto Rico, People's Republic of China, Russia, Syria, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey.

Inspired by the music of Astor Piazzola "Otoño Porteño", Bafochi develops a plot of love, passion and jealousy.

Games, chores, rituals and customs of the Mapuche Culture, Indigenous people who live in the Center-South of Chile.
CLAY
Work inspired by Diaguita Culture, from the North of Chile. Known for their skill in pottery and craftsmanship. They lived in close relationship with the Incas.
FROM SUN TO NORTH
Dance of the Sambos Caporales, one of the last brotherhoods that have appeared in the honor celebration of the Virgen del Carmen, which takes place in the town of La Tirana, Norte Grande of Chile.

Tribute to Violeta Parra. The greatest creator and composer in the history of Chile.
LOCORDURA
Tribute to Nicanor Parra. This work develops, musical and choreographically, the well-known antipoems of this extraordinary poet.
LAND OF FIRES
Work Inspired by the Ona Culture or Selk 'nam, natives of Tierra del Fuego. This culture was exterminated by the white man.

Work inspired by the Legend of "Los Pallachatas", volcanoes on the shores of Chungará Lake, Northern Chile.
